Karen Britt Peeler has joined the firm and focuses her practice on the needs of disabled children and the elderly, particularly special needs trusts and guardianship estates, litigation, mediation and arbitration. Karen received her B.A. from Meredith College and her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1980. She practiced formerly with Boyce Mitchell Burns & Smith, P.A. and also served as claims counsel to Lawyers Mutual Liability Insurance Company of NC. She has been a certified mediator since 1996, having mediated hundreds of Superior Court cases, particularly insurance-related matters, Workers Compensation and family law matters throughout the state. She is active in volunteer service to her profession through the Wake County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association, serving on its Dispute Resolution Council for many years.
